London has been cemented as the world capital for tourists. In 2013, it received a record breaking 16.8 million visitors – the most of any city in the world making it the world’s most popular city for tourists to visit.
And Londoners will appreciate that they’ve beaten Paris as the top city to visit in the world.
London’s previous record for most visitor was set in 2006 when it had 15.6 million visitors. Analysts believe that the massive increase in visitors was due to the Olympic ‘halo’ effect as people from all over the world saw London glowing on the world stage during the London 2012 games.
Well done, London.
I’m proud to say we (a family of four) were some of those visitors last year and we can’t wait to go back.
