Big news from the major British budget hotel chain Travelodge – they plan to open 184 new budget hotels in London by 2025. They’re goal is to have at least one in every borough.

The hotel chain made the announcement after John Penrose MP opened its 500th hotel at Stratford yesterday in time of the Olympic games this summer.
“In central London the quality, budget hotel market has a good presence,” said Guy Parsons, chief executive at Travelodge. “However, in flourishing boroughs where regeneration is a big priority such as Barnet, Ealing, Lewisham or Wandsworth it’s non-existent and we now want to focus on these growth hotspots”.
Travelodge currently has 47 hotels in the capital and plans to open another six before the games begin.

We’ve never staying in one of these but we hear they’re pretty nice for a budget hotel and they provide a good standard of stay (compared to other Budget London Hotels).
