London’s iconic New Year’s Eve fireworks display is returning in 2024, and tickets will be available for purchase from 18 October. Prices range from £20 to £50 depending on the viewing area, with a £15 discount for London residents. The ticket prices have increased this year to enhance security and comply with Martyn’s Law, introduced after the Manchester Arena attack. About 100,000 tickets are expected to be sold, and only those purchased through official channels, such as Ticketmaster, will be valid.

The New Year’s Eve celebration is one of London’s most famous annual events, drawing thousands of attendees and millions of viewers worldwide. The 12-minute display, broadcast live on the BBC, was the most-watched programme in the UK last year, with over 12.1 million people tuning in. A second batch of tickets will be released closer to the event.

The display, held on the banks of the Thames and centered around the London Eye, features fireworks, lighting, and music, with views of Big Ben and other landmarks. Mayor Sadiq Khan highlighted the event’s significance in showcasing London to the world, boosting the city’s tourism and hospitality industries. He urged those interested to secure tickets early, as demand is always high.

The increase in ticket prices reflects the need for tighter crowd management and enhanced security measures. This year, attendees are encouraged to only purchase tickets from official sources to avoid issues with counterfeit tickets, a problem seen in previous years.

For those hoping to ring in 2025 with a bang, this year’s fireworks display promises to be as spectacular as ever, serving as a major showcase of London’s vibrant culture and spirit.

Tickets will go on sale here.
