Many people don’t realize how old the London Underground actually is – it’s over 150 years old. That’s what makes pictures like this so amazing. It was taken sometime in the 1890’s and it’s amazingly atmospheric. I really love the old advertisements on the wall. Apparently, milk was something that was advertised quite a lot in those days!

  1. Hi, the pic itself is actually from 1925…. Looking at the tube maps from then (before the 1933 electrician standard came into play) there is only Marble Arch station with “Arch” in its name, so we can safely asume it is Marble Arch. The station itself is obviously much older as it opened July 30th 1900
