About This Event
The world premiere of Relative Motion, a new play by British-South African writer Stephanie Greenwood, running in The Little auditorium at Southwark Playhouse Borough. What begins as a chance encounter on a London commuter train blossoms into an unexpected romance between physics student Sam and aspiring novelist Paul – but as the relationship gathers momentum, subtle compromises and shifting power dynamics reveal the gradual development of coercive control. Blending romantic comedy, psychological thriller and black comedy, the play uses Isaac Newton’s laws of motion as a framework for examining love, power, perspective and the warning signs we often only recognize in hindsight. Directed by award-winning British-German director Wiebke Green, and co-produced by Very Rascals Productions and New York’s Feuille Dooley Productions, the Tony-nominated team behind the Broadway transfer of Operation Mincemeat. Casting to be announced. Performances Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm, with Tuesday and Saturday matinees at 3pm. Press night November 17, 2026. Tickets from GBP 22 standard (about USD 30), GBP 18 concessions, previews GBP 16, and a Pioneers Preview on November 11 at GBP 10. Running time approximately 90 minutes. Age guidance 14+.
