The celebrated Trafalgar Square church will be transformed into an immersive cosmic journey for five nights only

One of London’s most beautiful churches is about to become a gateway to the cosmos. St Martin-in-the-Fields will host Space, a spectacular sound and light experience created by the acclaimed art collective Luxmuralis, from 17th to 21st February 2026.

Following sell-out runs at venues across the UK, Space brings its magical blend of projected imagery and atmospheric soundscapes to the iconic James Gibbs-designed church on the corner of Trafalgar Square. The experience celebrates humanity’s relationship with planet Earth and our ambition to venture into the unknown.

A Journey Through the Universe

The experience begins in the church’s courtyard, where visitors can enjoy drinks at the outdoor Courtyard Café & Bar before the journey begins. The show then moves inside, where the entire interior of the 18th-century church is illuminated with bespoke projections and music.

Expect a dazzling visual narrative that includes the first rocket launch, the creation story, and the Big Bang itself—all set against an atmospheric soundscape. The experience culminates with a stunning perspective: viewing Earth as if looking back from space, surrounded by a galaxy of stars.

The full experience lasts approximately 30 to 60 minutes, with a 15-minute seated finale, though visitors are welcome to linger and absorb the atmosphere after entering.

Silent Disco Under the Stars

For one night only, Luxmuralis is offering something entirely different. On Wednesday 18th February, the church’s crypt will host a silent disco surrounded by a constellation of ever-looping projected stars. DJs will spin across three separate channels on wireless headphones, playing everything from classics to current chart hits—all while stars shift, flow, and orbit around the dancers.

“The Stained-Glass Windows of Our Time”

Space is produced by artist and sculptor Peter Walker, Artistic Director at Luxmuralis. The collective has earned a reputation for what Walker calls creating “the stained-glass windows of our time”—using light to paint historic architecture and bring stories to life in ways that honour both contemporary art and centuries of heritage.

“It is wonderful to play a part in the contemporary life of St Martin’s,” Walker says, “bringing this new artform and adding it to these centuries of artistic and cultural history.”

Visiting Information

Space runs from Tuesday 17th to Saturday 21st February 2026, with timed entry slots every 15 minutes from 5:30pm to 9:45pm.

Tickets start at £8, with premium time slots at £12. Under-16s pay just £5, and children under two go free. The experience is fully accessible and suitable for all ages.

Pre-booking is strongly recommended, as only a limited number of tickets will be available on the day.
