Tube Station History
Sudbury Tube Station is a historic station located in the borough of Brent, in North West London. The station was first opened in 1903 as part of the Metropolitan Railway. Sudbury Town station, as it was originally called, was the terminus of the line until it was extended to Harrow-on-the-Hill in 1904. The station was renamed Sudbury & Harrow Road in 1910, before finally being renamed Sudbury Town in 1931.
The station has undergone several renovations and upgrades throughout its history. In 1931, the station was rebuilt in an Art Deco style, which is still visible today. The station was also expanded in 1932 to accommodate the new Piccadilly Line, which had been extended to Sudbury Town. The Piccadilly Line brought new life to the area, with many new shops and businesses opening up around the station.
