About This Event
Each summer, while the King is away, the nineteen State Rooms at Buckingham Palace open to the public — the only time of year you can walk through the working heart of the monarch’s official London residence. The 2026 opening runs from 9 July to 27 September, daily until 31 August (then Thursday to Monday in September). Highlights include the Throne Room, the Picture Gallery — freshly rehung this year to show 120 works — the Ballroom and the garden. Tickets are timed and sell out, so book ahead; the nearest tube is Green Park or Victoria.
