This short film is a dramatization of a true story. Many of may be familiar with the iconic ‘Mind the Gap’ announcements on the Tube. They were recorded many years ago by a stage actor named Oswald Lawrence. After he died, his widow would travel the Tube to continue to hear his voice. This changed a little while ago when the recording were refreshed with a new voice actor. The widow kindly asked if they would keep the old recordings at once particular station – and to great fanfare they did.

This lovely short film tells the small story – one of a million that makes London such a wonderful place.

Mind the Gap indeed.

  1. Thanks for that. I miss “Mind the Gap” myself (being back in the USA) so I cannot imagine her feeling of loss. What a great story.

  2. Lovely, I couldn’t help but wonder what other world city’s transport system would do something so kind and human? Moscow, New York, Beijing? Hmm.. that’s why I love London.
