Top Family Friendly Activities in London

Apr 20, 2012 By Jonathan

Thinking of fun and imaginative things to do with the family when they come to visit can be difficult at times. Organising and planning various activities can be a bit of a headache but there are plenty of inventive things to do in the capital that are sure to keep the whole family amused. From sightseeing tours with a difference to workshops guaranteed to satisfy that sweet tooth, there are so many things that are certain to keep families entertained both during the day and at night.

Chocolate Making

As well as being one of the many great gift ideas for friends and family, a chocolate making workshop is also an enjoyable way to spend a morning or afternoon. Everyone loves chocolate and families will have loads of fun creating and eating their very own masterpieces. The best thing about the workshop is the amount of chocolate guests can taste throughout their session and they’ll even be able to take home some of their creations – so the pleasure can continue that little bit longer!

London Zoo

From penguins and tigers to reptiles and giraffes, animal lovers are in for a real treat at London Zoo. This famous family attraction is the perfect place to spend a day marvelling at the amazing wildlife. With various shows and talks throughout the day, a day at the zoo is guaranteed to be an action-packed one from start to finish. For an extra special treat, guests also have the chance to get their hands dirty by becoming a zookeeper for the day, feeding various animals and performing a number of important duties.

Thames Cruises

Top experience days can also be enjoyed on the iconic River Thames for a more relaxing sightseeing experience. Thames cruises are a fantastic way to see many of the famous landmarks including the Houses of Parliament and Tate Modern as you cruise effortlessly along the river. It really is the quickest and easiest way to see some of the most famous places in London without forcing the whole family to walk for miles.

Theatre Shows

No trip to London is complete without a visit to one of the top theatre shows in the West End. Every family has different tastes but the wide range of amazing shows means there is sure to be something to suit everyone. Audiences can get their air guitars out at ‘Rock of Ages’ and ‘We Will Rock You’ or be entertained by ‘The 39 Steps’ and ‘Wicked’. These top West End shows are the perfect way to spend an evening with the family.
