Londontopia Announcement: Introducing The New Full-Color 101 London Travel Tips 2nd Edition

Oct 1, 2020 By Jonathan

Today we’re coming out with a new guidebook. We’ve spent the last few months retooling our guidebook 101 London Travel Tips. We’ve given it a new look, higher-quality printing, added color photos and overall updated all the writing to be relevant to today. Today it’s available to buy from us or from bookstores everywhere. This book is an important milestone in a new direction Anglotopia is going in.

Yes, I know it seems odd to release a new guidebook in the middle of a global pandemic when no one can actually go anywhere. But we’re optimists. Travel will resume one day, and you’ll need to plan for it! So, why not plan and read with our shiny new guidebook?

The topic may look familiar – we first published 101 London Travel Tips almost 10 years ago. It’s been a robust seller that whole time, but when I was thumbing through it earlier this year, I realized that it was woefully out of date. I’ve learned a lot more about publishing books since we put it out, so it didn’t look very nice. And much of the information was out of date or irrelevant.

So, this summer in my spare time in the evenings and weekends when I’m wasn’t working my day job, I’ve been rewriting the thing and laying it out in Adobe InDesign to look much nicer.

The result is now available today – 101 London Travel Tips 2nd Edition. It’s shiny, and pretty, filled with tons of London goodness. It comes in at around 225 pages. You will learn lots about London. The goal of these guidebooks is not to be THE only guidebook you read about a place, it’s to be a supplement to other guidebooks. It’s the stuff they leave out. It’s the advice we give readers who ask us questions. It’s like having us as a personal tour guide to London.

It’s available from today. You can order it directly from us at our online store (we make the most this way). We have 50 copies on hand but will order more if they sell out. But you can also order it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Booksamillion, Bookshops.org and anywhere you wish to buy books (we recommend a local independent bookshop – just give them the title or ISBN). There’s also an eBook version available but it doesn’t have the pictures, just the info. It’s available on all eBook platforms. The beautiful print version is $24.99 (this was necessary to get the color pictures looking really nice).

About the Book

London can be a terrifying place for first-time travelers. We’ve been to London 20 times over the past 20 years and have had our share of bad experiences, lessons learned and scary moments. We’ve written the 101 London Travel Tips guide book with our core readers in mind – people that love London and want to make the most of their trip. There are plenty of guidebooks out there that tell you where to go and what to see – this book is a little different – it tells you the stuff those guidebooks leave out. Stuff that you only learn when you’re in London that will help you be prepared and have the best trip to London possible. Get London Read with 101 London Travel Tips by Anglotopia. 101 full London tips, plus 101 beautiful pictures of London, and a bonus appendix with 101 Free Things to Do in London. Full-color, over 200 pages.

Now, time for a peek into our future plans that we haven’t shared with anyone. This is the first in an ongoing series of guidebooks that will follow a similar format – the 101 Travel Tips Guidebook series. We’re going to re-issue 101 Budget Britain Travel Tips in due course, then create new ones about the Cotswolds, Dorset, Oxford, Lake District, and any other area of Britain we think will sell. It will take time to put all of these out, obviously, but we hope to release a few a year going forward. We hope to take our 20 years of travel experience and distill them into useful little guidebooks that are pretty to look at and a joy to read.

You read it here first!

Now, please consider buying the new guidebook!
