Top Ten London: The Ten Best Casinos in London

Jan 7, 2019 By Jonathan

As you’d expect from one of the biggest cosmopolitan hubs on the planet, London has some truly great casinos. Whether you’re an all out slots kind of player or you’re more into Blackjack and table games there’s plenty on offer. Here are ten of the best that all true gambling aficionados must see!

Genting’s The Colony Cub

You’ll find The Colony Club by Genting at the heart of the opulent May Fair area of London. If you’ve ever played Monopoly before, you’ll know that this is a seriously high-end part of town so gaming venues here are going to offer a level of luxury not found in any old casino.

Obviously, you’ll find loads of opportunities to have a flutter on The Colony Club’s well-stocked casino floor. You’ll also discover that the joint offers live music, a restaurant offering tastes of flavours from around the globe, and in The Colony Bar there is even an ever-changing programme of live music that keeps the party going until late.

The Palm Beach Casino

The Palm Beach Casino is another of London’s finest casinos that is also situated on the elegant Mayfair side of town. The venue itself has just benefited from a huge £2 million makeover. The refurb made what was already a luxurious gaming mecca into one of the UK’s most impressive eating, drinking, and of course gambling locations.

As you’d expect, the décor is opulent to say the least and the huge range of international dining options prepared by chef Zaman in the inhouse restaurant will delight even the fussiest foodie. Couple this with an extensive cocktail menu in the lounge bar, along with a bustling casino floor and you’ve all the trappings of a wonderful evening!

The Hippodrome Casino

What really stands out about The Hippodrome Casino is its sheer scale. Like all the best casino resorts in Sin City, this place spreads its gaming and entertainment out. Across the four floors, visitors will find multiple bars and lounges, restaurants, a theatre, and even the Poker Stars Live designated area.

Naturally, those with a penchant for poker will find themselves well catered for with this huge, state-of-the-art card room dedicated to one of the most exciting casino games around.

Grosvenor’s The Victoria

Despite being a chain casino, there is a lot to like about The Victoria by Grosvenor. It’s a lot more relaxed than some of the other entries on this list meaning you won’t feel out of place if you forget to put on your three-piece suit and dicky bow.

Like The Hippodrome, The Victoria has a designated poker room offering cash games and regular tournaments. You’ll also find all your favourite casino classics too. There are many blackjack tables, roulette wheels, and slot machines to keep the action fresh.

For your eating needs the imaginatively titled “The Dining Room” offers up a range of high-end international cuisine. Meanwhile, the bar area also offers snack food, coffees, and an extensive range of beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails.

Grosvenor’s The Barracuda

The Barracuda is the second entry on our list of London’s 10 best casinos that is by leading UK casino operators Grosvenor. This place is ideal for those who’ve been indulging in a bit of typical London sightseeing and fancy a game, bite to eat, or a drink somewhere with a bit of class. You can find The Barracuda on the iconic Baker Street, right near to the Marble Arch.

What really stands out about The Barracuda is its attention to their more exclusive clients. You can book The White Room for private sessions if you’re far too well-to-do to deal with the average riff raff in one of London’s most exclusive nightspots!

The Ritz Club

The Ritz Club is quite literally world famous. It offers some of the most exclusive gambling not only in London but on the planet. They’ll even get you a limousine to ferry you to their front door to really set a night of opulence off just right.

The Ritz is where a suave sort like James Bond would come to play a few hands of blackjack or to sip cocktails when not on the job. It really is a splendid gaming venue and no list of London’s best casinos not on gamstop would complete without a mention of this legendary place.

Maxim’s Club Casino

Based in Kensington, Maxims is another gaming venue that is absolutely tailored towards opulence. With its three largely gold-finished gaming areas, designated whisky lounge, and international restaurant, there is literally something for everyone at Maxim’s. We particularly like the restaurants sample club food menu – allowing guests to try many of the delicacies on offer at the same time!

Grosvenor’s The Park Tower Casino

Here’s another great gaming venue by leading UK casino operators Grosvenor. Again, despite being part of one of the largest casino chains in the world, The Park Tower really values exclusivity. It’s located in one of the higher-end parts of Britain’s capital – close to Harrods, Harvey Nicholls, and the Mandarin Hotel.

In terms of dining, The Park Tower is complete with a grand Modern European and Arabic restaurant which overlooks the bustling casino floor – stocked with all your favourite games.

The Park Tower also encourages its visitors to contact their General Manager, Alison Sullivan to help them really enjoy their time at the casino in the height of luxury.

Les Ambassadeurs

As you may have guessed from the name, Les Ambassadeurs is a high-end spot for a game of cards, spin of a roulette wheel, or just a bite of some of the best food the city of London has to offer. Like many of our other recommendations on this list, this private members’ club is in the heart of Mayfair and operates 24 hours a day.

Somewhat bizarrely, one of the best things about Les Ambassadeurs is the grandiose library room on site. This provides guests with a level of luxury unmatched by any of the other options listed here. Whilst everything about Les Ambassadeurs is regal, the library is surely its crown jewel.

Crown London Aspinall’s

Anyone with any knowledge of high-end casinos will surely know the name Aspinall’s. It’s one of those names that just conjures images of decadence upon hearing it.

The Crown London is everything you’d expect too. All aspects of the place are luxurious. This makes sense since you’ll have to travel to Mayfair for a visit.

Crown London boasts a fantastic series of private gaming salons. Each has a slightly different feel to it. These range from stylish and minimalist slices of modernity, to the all-out splendour of The Jade Room.
