Is The Irish Lottery Better Than The UK Lotto?

Sep 16, 2022 By Jonathan

Playing the lottery has always been a global favorite. But, with the ease of playing international lotteries online, it is more popular now than ever. You bet on lottery results by taking advantage of playing lotteries online through offshore casinos. Therefore, you are betting with the company and not the nation. The games are identical, except the online experience is more accessible, and your bets and winnings are processed electronically. For either lottery, you can return to the site to check the lottery results. The UK Lottery results and the Irish lotto live draw results are on Wednesday and Saturday.

You can choose any international lottery offered, regardless of where you live. This puts the decision of which lottery is “best” squarely in your hands. Comparing favorite lotteries like the Irish and UK Lottery can be difficult if you are unaware of the differences between the two. Below, we will explain the differences and why the Irish Lottery may be your best choice.

Basic Fundamentals

For each of these lotteries, you choose six numbers. You can select them manually or allow the computer to randomly choose them for you. The numbers you choose between for the UK Lottery are 1 and 59. For the Irish Lottery, the choice is between 1 and 47. Each bet is £2, and the Irish Lottery requires a minimum of two lines. The Irish Lottery allows you to use a “Plus one and Plus two” option. You are entered for additional draws for an additional £1 per line (minimum of 2 lines). With the Plus options, you get three extra chances to win.

Which lottery is better?

The first thing you will notice is the UK Lotto has a prize cap of £50 million, while the Irish Lottery has a lower cap of £19 million. How does that change things? It affects the odds of winning the games. Your chance of winning the UK Lotto is one in 45 million. The odds drop when you bet on the Irish Lottery to 1 in 10 million. You are five times more likely to win the Irish Lottery than the UK lottery!

Additionally, 1 in every 29 games of the Irish Lottery is a winner. You may win a prize of a lower amount, but a lower prize could be a significant win. The average means that playing the Irish Lottery weekly could allow you to win at least twice yearly.

Physiologically, Winning the massive amount of money from the UK Lottery (if you win) is overpowering to many of its winners. The amount of money is so large that sometimes they assume it will last forever. They believe they have just found happiness forever. Of course, that is not true.

The smaller jackpot of the Irish Lottery is a tremendous amount of cash, but it is a realistic number. People tend to work harder to make the most of the money. A wise winner can easily make their Irish Lottery jackpot last a lifetime with wise investments and saving strategies.

Winning tip

You have a good chance of winning prizes in the Irish Lottery with the odds in your favor. You gain a bit of an edge by joining a syndicate. Syndicates win 20% of all the jackpots in the lotteries. A syndicate is when a number of people pool their money and bet together. They divide the costs of the bets and they can bet on more lines. Prizes are divided equally among the members of the group.
