How to Keep Perfect Hair with London Weather

Nov 2, 2020 By Jonathan

When we talk of historical and cultural heritage, London is one of the first names to mind. The city has centuries of stories to tell, and if you’re planning a Europe vacation, London should be there on your wishlist.

If you’re a travel enthusiast, you must know how our bodies react to different climatic conditions. Our hair is one of the first things people notice about us and, well, you can’t hide them all the time. So, you must have felt the need to keep good hair no matter where you go.

In addition to looks, it’s also about maintaining proper hair health. So, what can you do to keep perfect hair with London weather? We will find out here in this post.

We will look at some brilliant hacks to look and feel great when you go out visiting the beautiful museums and ancient bridges. Here is what you need to do:

Minimal Washing

Generally, London has a cold climate. So, it’s not the best idea to wash your hair every day. We would suggest washing them three times a week and nothing more.

Less frequent washing prevents your hair from drying out in London weather, so you can look good while you explore the city.

High-Quality Conditioning Agents

In a city like London, you need special hair care because of the dry wind. Therefore, choose your hair products wisely.

It’s a wise idea to go for Sulphate-free shampoos because they tend to extend hair damage. Sulfur tends to cut through essential oils, so your hair doesn’t get proper nourishment.

Also, it’s better to buy hybrid products that combine both shampoo and conditioner together. Products such as Curlsmith UK are ideal for cleaning and conditioning, so you don’t have to invest extra bucks for hair maintenance.

The shampoo-conditioner combo cleanses your scalp, removing dirt build-up, while the conditioner leaves your hair soft and manageable.

Hot Showers

Hot showers are quite tempting in London. Honestly, there’s no way around it because the weather doesn’t allow many cold showers. However, it’s not a great idea to wash hair with hot water. Hot water not only dries your hair, but it can also damage your scalp.

So, the best option is to use slightly warm water for a hair wash. It will be good for both your hair and the scalp.

Ponytails aren’t the Best Option

Often, ponytails can tangle your hair, leaving them messy. Combine that with weather dryness, and you get yourself a big hair problem. Unless you are using essential oils and conditioners, it’s not a great idea to go for ponytails.

Use Essential Oils

Oils are always good for the hair. Whether you’re out for a stroll or if you’re going to work, use some oil to keep your hair well-hydrated. The Curlsmith is one such product that not only softens hair but also restores hair moisture.

Diet is Important

We often ignore the value of diet for proper hair care. Eat food that is mineral-rich and contains oils. Use vitamin-rich food to ensure better health. With an appropriate diet, your hair not only gains strength, but they look good too.

Eat more cereals, fruits, and vegetables because they contain iron and Vitamins A, E, and C. Nuts, fishes, and meat are also great for stronger hair and healthier hair.

Cover your Hair

The wind is the most significant factor when it comes to maintaining hair looks. So, the best thing to do is to keep your head covered, especially when you’re out in a breezy place in London such as the Redbridge.

Use hats or scarves to secure your hair.

Heat Protection

If you like curls, you must be a frequent user of the heating iron. If you use heating appliances regularly, you must use heat protection sprays. It reduces the risk of hair damage so that you can maintain those curls while out in the city.

Avoid Static

It’s easy to get static charges in dry and cold conditions, which happens a lot in London. So, you need to keep your hair from acquiring this static charge. It also occurs when you use woolly hats and scarves. It keeps your hair frizz-free thanks to its moisturizing agents.

You won’t need additional frizz control sprays. Moreover, it’s a great idea to use silk-lined hats. They are particularly useful for curly hair. These hats also prevent hair breakage.

Conclusion

Keeping healthy hair while maintaining the looks is not all that difficult, after all. London is a tricky place when it comes to hairstyles because it’s mostly dry and cold. Indeed, it is not the best combination of healthy hair.

Nevertheless, with simple hacks and quality products such as the Curlsmith, you don’t need to worry much. Whether you have straight or curly hair, you can fight off any weather while staying in London.
