Guide for Red Dead Redemption 2 – General hints and tips

Dec 23, 2022 By Jonathan

Red Dead Redemption 2 is among the best-selling video games in the gaming industry. It won numerous Game of the Year awards due to its unique story, fantastic score, passionate characters, and immense open world.

But it can be challenging for a newbie who has yet to understand how everything in the game works. We recommend trying our best RDR2 hacks with aimbot to take your RDR2 gameplay to another level.

Also, you can achieve more with the tips and hints we’ll share below. So, keep reading as we explore them to the fullest.

General Hints and Tips to Guide your Gameplay in Red Dead Redemption 2

  • Keep your Health and Cores intact.

Resting in Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the easiest and fastest ways to recover your health. You can rest anywhere in this open-world game to restore your entire cores. You can initiate the command by holding the “Y” button on your game controller.

Alternatively, tonics are useful too, but they’ll only fill the exterior ring of your cores. So, you need provisions to reload the core itself. On the other hand, a wide assortment of plants in the wilderness significantly impacts your cores. You can easily spot these plants using the dead-eye ability.

Eating the plants raw can help you regain your cores. But be careful as some of them can be poisonous. Also, hunting legendary animals can help you access trinkets from any local Fence. These trinkets provide a permanent boost, including damage resilience and health experience. Whichever option you choose, the aim is to keep your cores full.

  • Take Good care of your horse.

Being in temperatures that are too cold or too hot can drain your core and your horse’s core. It’s essential to avoid such temperatures so that you and your horse can live through the game.

In addition to caring, hitch your horse on any open grounds, which in turn will replenish its cores. Hold the “Y” button on your controller while on horseback. Also, always have at least a horse reviver syringe as your travel.

Your horse may get weak and can’t even stand on its four legs. In such cases, it needs immediate medical attention. The horse reviver syringe can go a long way to bring your horse back to activity.

However, if your steed dies, you can’t retrieve it. You can find and claim the white Arabian horse from Lake Isabel in the northwest part of the map. This is a tip to get access to the strongest horse breed for free in Red Dead Redemption 2.

  • Upgrade Arthur’s Lodging for Fast Travel

Upgrading Arthur’s lodgings back at camp allows you to fast-travel to different areas. Keep in mind this allows you to only travel to previously discovered places. You can use the local train station to travel to other towns. This makes them now accessible for fast travel.

After unlocking fast travel from your home camp, you can set up camp in the wilderness using the fast travel option. Keep this in mind, as it would be helpful at some point in your gameplay.

  • Bond with your horse

Bonding with your four-legged friend comes in 4 levels and enables you with more abilities as it progresses. This includes rearing, drifting, skid tanning, and a longer retrieval distance when calling. You can quicken bonding by walking, feeding, petting, and brushing your horse.

At some point in RDR2, NPCs may attempt to snack on your steed, leaving you stranded on foot in the middle of nowhere. If you have a bond with your horse, a simple whistle can get the horse flinging the thief off of its back.

Quickly press “Up” on the directional pad to whistle; your horse will fling the thief right off.

  • Make money legitimately

Trading, looting, helping strangers, playing mini-games, and catching bounties are legitimate ways to make huge cash in Red Dead Redemption 2. Looting from a dead enemy can be a great way to find chewing tobacco for your dead-eye ability.

You can play games with strangers or anyone outside the camp. Also, helping the law by arresting WANTED bounties will boost your honor rating and leave you with tangible cash too. Another thing is that when you help a stranger, they can disclose some helpful secrets, leading you to make huge money. So, always help strangers as frequently as possible.

Conclusion

Whether you’re a newcomer or some months old in RDR2 gaming, these general hints and tips will help boost your experience. All you need to do is keep your health and cores intact, bond with your horse, help strangers, and unlock fast travel.

From making legit cash to enjoying the game, there’s more to get when you follow this RDR2 general guide.
