It’s no secret London has some of the best nights out in the world. With hundreds of clubs deciding where to go on a night out can be a difficult decision, though, especially if you’re coming from outside the city. No one wants a dud night out after they’ve planned a weekend away. Here are some suggestions to make sure you have a great time this weekend.
Ministry of Sound and Fabric
With almost forty years of experience between them, these two have been the lynchpins of the London club scene so long it feels strange to separate them. Even after so many years they’ve still been keeping their fingers firmly on the pulse of all things electronica. A guaranteed packed dance floor into the thousands makes these a must stop for anyone coming into the city.
Club Aquarium is a 500-capacity club open Thursday to Sunday in the trendy district of Shoreditch. Its main claim to fame is that while it houses the expected two dance floors, chill out room and VIP lounge, it also sports its own swimming pool and a jacuzzi within the club.
Corsica Studios was set up by an independent arts organisation and goes beyond the typical 1990s inspired house and techno formula. It’s typically packed with art school students looking to get their fill of the latest experimental sounds.
Cirque le Soir
Looking for something a bit different? How about acrobats, fire eaters, and snake charmers different? Cirque le Soir is regarded as one of the most extravagant clubs in London and getting in won’t be easy. It’s predominantly a member’s only club, but non-members can gain entry at certain times or if they reserve a minimum spend table in advance. Plan ahead if you want to go to this one.
KOKO is a Camden-based nightclub and music venue. Some of biggest artists in pop, rock, hip-hop and just about every other genre you can name have played here so whatever your taste there should be something for you. Keep an eye on the gig listings and make a night of it.
