Best Gifts to Buy While Travelling to Canada

Apr 1, 2022 By Jonathan

Are you travelling to Canada soon? If yes, have you considered getting a gift for the notable Canadians in your life? You should!

Canadians are involved in numerous activities, so they appreciate thoughtful gifts. However, finding the right gift item can be tasking, especially if you’ve never been to Canada.

Whether you visit Canada regularly or this is your first trip to Canada, understanding the culture here can help you pick the right gift. Well, it takes time to learn a culture. That’s why we would be highlighting the most appreciated gifts by Canadians. Let’s dive in;

1.  Maple Syrup

Everybody knows that Canadians love maple. So, that’s the right hint to get maple syrup as a gift. However, you should know that there are different varieties of maples, and they taste just differently.

You could explore the types and find the one your recipients would love. Nevertheless, we would advise you to buy locally produced maple. They often taste better than mass-produced maples. And, Oh yes! They are much appreciated.

2.  Maple Themed Clothing

Are you worried about getting a great-tasting and original maple syrup? Well, it’s okay if you don’t give maple syrups. Nonetheless, you could still tell that they appreciate maple by gifting maple theme merchandise.

A maple sweatshirt or maple tights won’t go wrong. Another option is to buy maple candles and maple Christmas ornaments. The list is endless. Take a stroll on Amazon or Etsy, and you’ll find excellent gifts for Canadians.

3.  Ice Wine

Do you know that Canada is the world’s largest producer of Ice wine? Oh well, now you know. Ice Wines are served after meals or as desserts. So, what better way to spice up your Canadian friend’s evening?

Nonetheless, there are different modifications of Ice Wines, so be sure to buy the right deal. You should also know that the Canadian government lays down certain restrictions on wine entering Canada. To not violate laws, you should get immigration advice for Canada from total.law.

4.  Binoculars

You can’t talk about Canada without talking about the whales, polar bears, lakes, waterfalls, mountains, and the natural scenery. However, to get the best experience, you have to visit a reserve or a national park.

Sadly, you can’t always visit these places. An alternative is to watch from afar. To do this, you’ll need binoculars. With a great binocular, Canadians can sit on a rooftop and enjoy beautiful landscapes and wild animals.

5.  Waterproof Camera and Cases

If you are coming home to meet someone who loves adventures, consider gifting them either a waterproof camera case or a waterproof case for their phones. It’s a subtle way to tell your friends, “alright, go explore places but don’t forget to take beautiful pictures”.

6.  Sports Jerseys

Sports are welcomed and appreciated in Canada. Considering that Canada is the home to Ice hockey, many Canadians love this sport. A great way to enjoy your Canadian friends is by giving them a sports jersey. If you know their favourite team, fantastic! If you don’t, fine!

Your best bet is getting them an original Toronto Maple leaves Jersey. This hockey team is very popular and liked by many.

7.  Tuxedo

If this is your first time visiting Canada, and you want to impress your receivers, then show up with a Tuxedo. What’s a Tuxedo to Canadians?

It implies wearing jeans laid-on jeans. Did you say, Aww? Well, Canadians don’t mind. You can choose to give a complete tuxedo or any denim-style clothing. Your choices are denim bags, denim bralettes, denim bathrobes, pants, jackets, or other denim-looking materials.

8.  Jewellery

Who says jewellery is not loved? In fact, the right jewellery can enhance one’s physical appearance, so they make perfect gift items. are one of the best gifts you can give a Canadian. Even if you know what your friends appreciate or don’t, you can’t make a mistake gifting pieces of jewellery. You can give any jewelry from a simple wristband to a necklace or an earring. You can decide to make it Canadian-themed or go for something unique.

9.  Gift Certificates and Gift Cards

At this point, if you are unsure what to give, then your last resort is Gift certificates and Gift cards. While this may be simple, you should put some thought into it. Consider gifting something your reception would love. If they talk about Ice wine, but you can’t find the perfect ice wine, then purchase an ice wine tour ticket for them. The ideas are limitless. You could get a BC whale watching tour certificate, a massage gift certificate, a shopping gift card, or a restaurant’s gift card.

Final Thoughts

Everyone likes receiving gifts. Hence, it’s recommended you travel with gifts for your friends. It shows you are thoughtful, and gifts can win you a spot in their heart.

There are many items you could gift. It would help if you understood your recipient. However, our list should help you select the best gift.
