2023 Party Planning: Best London Venues For Hire

Feb 7, 2023 By Jonathan

As we’ve now settled into 2023 the hope among many is that we can leave the string of national disasters and catastrophes behind. It is important to have something to look forward to and shine a chink of light in otherwise dark times. What better way to look forward to the future than planning a fun event?

Be it a big birthday bash, your first art exhibition, conference or wedding, it’s great to get something on your calendar that you can’t wait to attend. So let’s check out some amazing London venues for the best party atmosphere in the capital.

Pantechnicon – for a year-round summer party

Summer might only technically last for three months but at Pantechnicon you can enjoy being surrounded by a lush botanical environment perfect for drinks, food and parties. Set over six floors, Pantechnicon has something for everyone.

You can book tables set amongst the hubbub of its communal spaces, find a nook for a quiet celebration or reserve a private room and properly let your hair down angst invited guests.

The venue is dripping in glass, making it feel like a greenhouse and ensuring your party is well-lit from dawn until the lights come on. With a roof garden and terrace, this is the perfect place to enjoy a summer party as you look across Belgravia and the London skyline.

The Light Bar – for an edgy event in East London

From Belgravia to Shoreditch, London is home to whatever kind of event, style or theme you want to go for. The Light Bar, found in London’s still-trendy Shoreditch, offers an industrial warehouse space in what was formerly the Victoria Power Station, as its name alludes to.

Set across the ‘Engine Hall’, ‘Timber Loft’ and ‘Copper Bar’ the venue is ideal for weddings, birthday parties and corporate events for up to 150 people.

With a courtyard and plenty of natural light, this is an ideal venue for evenings in the summer or a cosy atmosphere during winter. Whether you are a tech startup looking for somewhere to party or you are throwing your friend a birthday suprise, East London’s edgy venues leave you spoilt for choice.

Whirled Cinema – for something a bit different

When booking a unique corporate event space you are typically looking for slightly different versions of the same thing; somewhere to eat and drink and a shared space where you and your guests can chat and dance.

But for something that’s a little outside of the box, Brixton’s Whirled Cinema could be just what you need to get the party started. By convention, Whirled Cinema is just like any other cinema, screening pictures like you would expect.

But unlike the nearest Odeon or Cineworld, Whirled Cinema is also available for hire. This is great for a party for a movie buff but it’s also the perfect place to launch your latest advertising campaign or marketing event as event goers can hire the use of the cinema’s projection and lighting equipment to put on screening events.

Twickenham Stadium – for the sport lover

Whether it’s a special birthday or your wedding day, if sport is important to you then consider the Home of Rugby as your venue. Twickenham Stadium sits in West London and it’s the famous arena where England’s rugby team steps onto the field to battle their foes.

But, Twickenham is more than a sporting venue and its facilities are perfect for hosting parties and events of all sizes. With space for up to 800 guests and a professional kitchen serving up meals, few party venues can create the same atmosphere as a pitch-side party at Twickenham.

London Transport Museum – for a London-centric party

As ‘exciting’ as it might be, one of the things London is most famous for is its transport. From its iconic red buses and black taxi cabs to the Underground, there is a rich history of getting from point A to point B in the city. Where better to throw a party than the London Transport Museum?

Based in Covent Garden, this event space is themed around London’s transport and it is decked out in tube seats, travel paraphernalia and even some London buses! Available to hire day or night, if you are looking for a corporate event with a difference then the London Transport Museum could be perfect.

Tower Bridge – for an iconic London landmark event

Tower Bridge, commonly mistaken for London Bridge, is one of the most photographed spots in London. It is a world-renowned landmark and now you can also hire it out to enjoy a party or event.

Guests can choose from three different spaces for their event, from the Walkways that span across the Thames to the Engine Rooms and North Tower Lounge.

Perhaps the biggest attraction is the recently-installed glass floors in the Walkway which give you a unique perspective of London and the Thames from above. Partygoers and diners can enjoy the ever-changing London landscape during their event as night descends and the lights of the city come alive.

River cruise events – for the best view of the Thames

London’s River Thames is as famous a spot as you could wish to be for your party, so why not consider hopping on a boat and dancing the night away? Whether it’s a full-blown party, a more subdued dinner or a fun-filled team evening event, there are plenty of boat hire opportunities for your occasion in London.

The best part? You can cruise along the Thames and watch the city go by as your event unfolds. From catered events to festive parties and personal celebrations, if you want to throw a party in style then on the Thames is a great way to go.

Hampton Court Palace – for the ultimate black-tie affair

Dating back to the reign of King Henry VIII, Hampton Court Palace is one of the most exclusive venues you could wish to hire for an event or celebration. Situated along the banks of the River Thames, guests can enjoy this historic venue for its cobbled courtyard, grand staircases and beautifully adorned gardens.

Many of us don’t need much of an excuse to get dressed up but your guests can go all out for this one-of-a-kind venue that is steeped in history, and even a ghost or two. Whether you are hosting a dinner or reception, your guests won’t leave your black tie event hosted at Hampton Court Palace without a smile.
