London Alert: November Subscription Drive – Help Support Londontopia – Get a Free Calendar!

Nov 1, 2016 By Jonathan

738.

That’s how many people have subscribed to the Anglotopia Magazine in Print and Digital Form since we launched the magazine earlier this year. We’re now preparing to publish the fourth issue this year (it’s coming, we’re almost done and sending it to the printers soon).

The reaction to the magazine has been completely positive – readers have called it a quarterly love letter to England and devour each issue when it arrives. Of course, we sell more copies than just to subscribers, we consistently sell out of our single issues as well. One thing people love the most is the complete lack of advertisements in the magazine – it’s a breath of fresh air in the advertising-saturated magazine industry (our competitor magazine are almost 1/3 ads). People really like the high-quality paper and printing method we’ve chosen to use. Each magazine is a keepsake.

We are so grateful that so many people have enjoyed the magazine and each subscription (and single issue purchase) is a vote of confidence in Anglotopia and its future.

When we began planning the magazine and our new subscription model last year, we wanted to have 1,000 subscribers by the end of the first year. It’s now November and we’re painfully close to that target, so to make sure that we reach that target and to help ensure the long-term financial longevity of the new publication, we’re launching a special November Subscription Drive (sort of like what PBS or NPR does).

For the month of November (or until stock runs out), we will be offering a free 2017 Anglotopia Calendar with all new PRINT subscriptions – which begin with issue #4 this month. The Anglotopia Calendar features 12 beautiful pictures that we took on our recent trips and makes a great addition to the wall.

There are two options to subscribe

  1. Print Subscription – Published quarterly, you will receive 4 issues, starting with Issue #4 this month and then receive 3 more issues next year. If you choose this option, you get a FREE 2017 Calendar with your first issue. This option costs $65
  2. Digital Subscription – If you don’t want to waste the trees, we offer the digital subscription option which will get you a high-resolution Digital PDF to download when we release each issue (it looks great on Tablets). This options costs $40 and DOES NOT include the calendar but you get a free e-book version of our British Slang Dictionary.

With both Digital and Print subscriptions, you get access to the entire Digital PDF archive of the magazine (yes that includes issues 1-3).

Also, now that we’ve produced the magazine for a year, we now have a much better idea of the costs in involved in paying writers, photographers, the printer and the postal service, so I’m afraid we will have to raise the subscription rate to $75/year from Jan 1st 2017. So this is your last chance to get it for $65 – all current and new subscribers until January 1st will be grandfathered in at the old rate.

So, can you help us get to 1,000 subscribers? Please tell your Anglophile friends about the magazine – it’s great value for money and they will love our focus on British history, culture, and entertainment. Help spread the word! We need just 262 new subscribers!

P.S. If you subscribed to the Anglotopia Magazine back in February, starting December 1st, you will begin receiving your renewal notices by email – please keep a look out for these so you can ensure your subscription continues into year two!
