LFG London 2024
LFG London is a UK WoW community meetup event organized by British content creator MrGM. It took place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, and was streamed online. Tickets for the event sold out in just over an hour when they went on sale earlier this year. The master of ceremonies for the event was @Kexman.
LFG London is an initiative by LF.Group. It is a London-based business that aims to help gamers find teammates and achieve better results in online games such as League of Legends, World of Warcraft, and Lost Ark. LF.Group also provides a software toolkit for gaming communities to host events, recruit players, and organize activities. It raised a $1 million investment from Grishin Robotics to expand community support and develop new features. Anews feed and an AI helper suggesting the best job opportunities for players are some of them.
LFG London collaborated with streamers and introduced its LFG Discord bot first with Lost Ark’s Traveling Merchants tracking feature. The latter enables guilds to create a community page to recruit players, plan events, and oversee their teams.
Preachcon
Preachcon, a community gathering hosted by UK streamer Preach, will return in 2024. It will take place on Wednesday, August 14th, and Thursday, August 15th, 2024, at Ashton Under Lyne in Manchester. Tickets are already available for purchase. So if you are interested, you can always reserve a place. Preachcon returns after a couple of years, following a sold-out event in 2022. The usual show version did not happen in 2023 due to a mix of reasons. However, the full show-style event is back for 2024.
The event will feature content creators, entertainment, and opportunities to play games and socialize with friends in person. And of course, it is the chance for you to meet Preach himself, a creator with half a million subscribers on YouTube and over 300,000 followers on Twitch. Preachcon is usually not streamed, providing a unique IRL experience for attendees. So no worries if you cannot join the event in person.
Plebcon
Plebcon, a series of UK World of Warcraft meet-up events, will be held from August 1st to 3rd, 2024, in Manchester. The latest Plebcon will take place at Pixel Bar Manchester and will once again feature outstanding games and drinks. The first event of the year took place back in January, also at the Pixel Bar in Manchester. Organiser and UK MMORPG content creator RageDarling recently tweeted about the upcoming event, mentioning that ticket information will be available soon.
RageDarling previously told about her events: “Everybody in my community is welcome with open arms to come along, but I also want to open the doors to the WoW community in general. The game can be super isolating sometimes, and I just want to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone and make some IRL friends. Creating an environment that encompasses what guilds used to feel like is exactly what I’m trying to achieve.“
