London is full of amazing things to do all through the day, and it certainly doesn’t fail to disappoint when it comes to thrilling things to see and do at night. If you’re planning a trip to the UK’s capital and want some ideas about what to do when the sun goes down, you’ve come to the right place. Or, maybe you’re a London resident that wants to get a bit more out of the city during the later hours!
Either way, we’re here to help. Here are our top picks of some fun things to do in London during the evening.
Bowling with a difference
Bowling has always been one of those activities that people love as it’s so much fun and it’s something you can do as a group, and this particular bowling alley we found goes even further to making sure you have a great time. The o2 Arena’s Brooklyn Bowl contains 12 luxurious bowling lanes which all have table service. The food is authentically American, and the drinks certainly won’t disappoint either – you need to try the Nutella milkshake!
Go for a drink at London’s secret underground bar
It’s fair to say there are a lot of bars in London, so instead of listing them all, we thought we’d just talk about our favourite, and perhaps the most unique one. Cahoots London is a bar with a unique twist – it’s a 1940s underground themed cocktail bar which was inspired by the idea of an imagined tube station used as an air raid shelter finding new life in post-Blitz London. Check out their official website for more info.
See some live comedy
You’re never short of some laughs in London, and there are a whole host of comedy clubs around if you fancy seeing some world class stand-up. The 99 Comedy Club is arguably the best (and has actually been voted as London’s best club for 4 years in a row now) and definitely worth a visit. As with most comedy clubs in London, booking online in advance is advised as shows are likely to sell out so tickets on the door may not always be available.
Go see a film at the outdoor cinema
During those warmer spring/summer evenings, why not go for a cinema experience with a difference. There are a few different ones available throughout the city, so it’s worth doing a bit of research on each one to find out which one is the most up your street, and what films are showing there and the starting times. Here’s a handy guide to the varied outdoor cinemas in London.
Go and see a West End show
London’s West End is world famous, and it’s a great choice for something to do in the city when the sun goes down so you can make the most of the other sites in the day, and relax in front of an incredible show on the evening. Popular shows on this season include The Book of Mormon, Matilda and The Lion King.
