I think this is really cool – a new pop-up shopping mall has been setup in London’s East End across from Shoreditch station called Boxpark.

From the Daily Mail:

Built entirely from recycled shipping containers, London’s latest retail park is not your average shopping experience.

Boxpark opened in east London today and claims to be the world’s first ever ‘pop-up’ shopping centre.

Located on trendy Shoreditch High Street, it is made up of 60 standard-sized shipping containers which are stacked two stories high and five rows wide.

What a great use for old shipping containers!

Boxpark has a five year lease for the land and it will be returned to its original condition when they’re done. We’ll definitely check this out next time we’re in London.

Here are some pictures of Boxpark:

  1. What greatness the brittish business owner shows by taking scrap and turning it into a store and sell goods from it. Well done, at least we know the brittish economy is improving with this kinda of smarts.
