This looks like a lot of fun!

Free film screenings, events and performances aboard a floating cinema in East London this summer.

The Floating Cinema in London

Climb aboard a converted canal boat for free entertainment as The Floating Cinema navigates the waterways of the Olympic boroughs.

The 12-seater auditorium will show special footage and film shorts as well as offering canal tours, talks and workshops.

There will also be some larger scale outdoor film events for canal-side audiences.

The Floating Cinema Programme

The project kicks off on 1 July with a free event outside Lea Rowing Club with DJs, live music, water-themed film footage and film shorts made by teenagers in the Olympic host boroughs.

The rest of the programme includes film screenings at Shoreditch Festival, a canal trip into the Olympic Park with author Iain Sinclair and guided tours of the East End’s green spaces.

Floating Cinema Open Thursdays: Turn up between 2-8pm on Thursdays during July and August and you can meet the crew and watch unique film footage.

All events are free but booking for tours and performances is essential.
