I don’t normally post about other social media influencers but this one is so amazing, I had to share (and the creator said it was all right if I did).

So, we’re all missing London a lot right now. It’s going to be a LONG time until those of us outside the UK are going to be able to go to London. Well into 2021 at least (we’re hoping to go October 2021 at this point).

But we can go there virtually right now thanks to an incredible YouTube channel I discovered. Watched Walker is a chap who lives in London and has a steady camera setup that allows him to film walks around London. And that’s what he does. He uploads several a week.

Want to walk around the West End in the rain?

Want to walk around Highgate in the high summer?

Want to enjoy London’s parks?

You can, virtually and in 4k resolution. There’s no commentary, no music, just the sights and sounds of London as the creator goes on his walks. The video is steady using the rig he uses for filming (though it can bounce a bit).

I’ve watched several of these. They’re amazing. Relaxing to watch. I like to turn them on in the background while I work on my laptop. Bonus if you have an extra-large TV, it’s like looking through a window to what London is right at this very moment.

I highly recommend subscribing to his channel and giving it a go. When I’m able to go back to Britain, I’m hoping to buy similar equipment so I can film similar walks in the countryside and in villages around Britain. I imagine that would be quite nice to have – mostly for myself, but to share on our own YouTube channel.

Here are a few samples I loved.

  1. Jonathan, if you’re not familiar with Joolzguides you are missing a lot of real non tourist London walks and info, quirky historical, fun and very educational. Try him ! I am a London lover like you but I have seen all the sights in 17 visits. Joolz shows me the fun, fascinating & historical inside things. He is so entertaining. An actor and a writer and a walking encyclopedia of music, poetry & London. My husband , who has only been on three of my 17 London trips with me and is not into it like I am, loves him and loves what he is learning. & is ready to go back.

    • Hi Maureen, Joolz is a funny chap and gives you loads of informative stuffs about the places his visiting,, but myself i prefer LADmob and Sanpo Stroll as sometimes i like to watch this London walks on my TV just with street sounds 🙂

  2. I’ve been a subscriber for a while now and his videos got me though lockdown and the ups and downs of the last 2 yrs. I wanted to go London so bad after things cleared up and I did June 2022!
