Step into the World of Paddington Bear: A New Immersive Experience at London’s County Hall now open for visitors.
Today, the first images have been unveiled for The Paddington Bear™ Experience, offering an exciting glimpse into this new, large-scale interactive adventure that brings to life the beloved world of Paddington Bear. Located at London’s iconic County Hall on the Southbank, this experience promises to enchant visitors of all ages with its immersive storytelling and interactive games.
Karen Jankel, the daughter of Paddington’s creator Michael Bond, recently visited the experience and shared her impressions. “Whenever something new comes along involving Paddington, I always wonder what my father would have thought. Visiting the Paddington Experience for the first time, I felt a mix of eager anticipation and trepidation. However, from the moment we stepped through Mr. Gruber’s shop, I knew there was no need for concern. The attention to detail is impeccable, and it truly feels like stepping into 32 Windsor Gardens and Paddington’s world. Everyone involved, from the designers to the actors, clearly has a deep affection for Paddington. Had my father still been here, I’m certain this experience would have received his pawprint of approval.”
Doors opened on Friday, May 31, 2024, this unique attraction covers over 26,000 square feet and takes guests on a journey through some of the most iconic locations from the Paddington stories. From the bustling Paddington Station to the Browns’ charming house at No. 32 Windsor Gardens, visitors are transported into the world of the nation’s favorite bear. Along the way, they will meet beloved characters, participate in interactive games, and enjoy a multitude of sensory experiences.
One of the highlights is the Marmalade Day Festival, where guests can join in the preparations for a very special celebration with the Brown family. The adventure culminates in a delightful Windsor Garden Street party, complete with Paddington’s favorite marmalade sandwiches, other treats, and plenty of family fun. The experience promises to capture the hearts of visitors young and old, making it a must-see for fans of the famous bear.
Mr. Gruber’s Shop, inspired by the charming antique store from the stories, is now open at County Hall. This quaint shop offers a first glimpse of the experience and provides an opportunity to purchase tickets and Paddington-themed merchandise.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of Paddington Bear, the lovable character created by Michael Bond in 1958. The first book, A Bear Called Paddington, introduced readers to the polite bear from Peru who was discovered by the Brown family at Paddington Station in London. Since then, the Paddington stories have sold over 40 million copies worldwide and have been adapted into numerous television shows and films. The latest installment, Paddington in Peru, is set to be released in the UK on November 8, 2024.
The Paddington Bear™ Experience is a collaborative effort by The Path Entertainment Group, The Copyrights Group (a STUDIOCANAL company), and Lionsgate.
