The Gruffalo returns to London’s West End in November for a fifth Christmas season. The 55-minute musical is an adaptation of the award-winning picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, which has sold more than 4 million copies in 38 languages.

The musical tells the story of a quick-thinking mouse in a dark wood who meets a fox, an eccentric old owl, a maracca-shaking snake and, of course, the Gruffalo.

The show, directed by Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell, has been performed in Poland, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Chile as well as in North America from Broadway to Alaska and Canada. It is suitable for children from the age of three.

The Gruffalo opens at the Lyric Theatre on 23 November and runs until 15 January, at child-friendly times such as 11am, noon and 2pm. Tickets cost £12.50 and £15.50. A limited number of premium seats are available at £20.
